<br />Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br /> <br />The Traffic Commission met in a called session, Tuesday, December 14, 2004, <br />at 5:15 P.M. in the municipal court room with the following members present: <br /> <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br /> <br />Ed Ellis <br />Mary Lane <br />Rickey Mackey <br />George Fisher <br />Ed Seid Ie <br />George Kimbrough <br />Matt Frierson <br /> <br />The City staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 5: 15 by acting Chair Ed Ellis. After some <br />discussion, Mr. Ellis was named as chairman. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted on a motion by Mr. <br />Kimbrough, seconded by Mr. Seidle and approved 5-0. (Mr. Mackey and Mr. <br />Frierson arrived at the meeting after this item.) <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Consideration of request to close 3rd Street S.E. from Kaufman St. South <br />to Austin Street. No action was taken regarding the closure of SE 3 ST. <br />Assistant Chief Hundley explained that the First Baptist Church <br />representatives and Shawn Napier were still discussing alternatives to <br />closing the street. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Consideration of request for placement of Stop Signs for east/west traffic <br />on Dickson Street at the intersection with 10th Street. AC Hundley <br />explained the situation of a drainage dip on the east curb line of NW 10 <br />ST. Complaints have been coming from individuals in the immediate area <br />of the intersection complaining about the loud noises coming from people <br />'bottoming out' on the dip. The dip is marked by the usual 'dip' signs. <br />Engineering requested stop signs to stop traffic to stop the noise and the <br />damage to the street. Motion to install stop signs as requested made by <br />Mr. Kimbrough, seconded by Mr. Seidle, motion passed 5-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consideration of the request for a no parking area on the north curb line of <br />NW 3rd ST from Houston St to Graham St and the repositioning of the <br />
