<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />In the event such employee is convicted of such crime, either by entering a plea of guilty or nolo <br />contendere to this crime or to a lesser offense, or by trial to a judge or jury, he/she may be discharged <br />from employment by action of the City Manager. <br /> <br />SECTION 15.10 - Personal Appearance <br /> <br />Employees are expected to dress appropriately and to maintain a good general appearance at all <br />times, regardless of work location and degree of public contact. <br /> <br />SECTION 15.11 - Use of Tobacco Prohibited <br /> <br />Employees are prohibited from the use of tobacco and tobacco products in city facilities and while <br />in or operating city vehicles and equipment. <br /> <br />SECTION 15.12 - Use of Equipment <br /> <br />City equipment and facilities must be used in a safe and appropriate manner and only for authorized <br />official purposes. City equipment includes but is not limited to vehicles, desks, computers, printers, <br />telephones, facsimiles, copy machines, postage meters. Inappropriate use of City equipment includes <br /> <br />but is not limited to visiting pornographic internet sites, playing games or downloading software off <br />the internet for purposes unrelated to the job, sending vulgar or sexually explicit emails, spending <br />excessive amounts of time on the internet for personal use, and unsafe use of city equipment such as <br />vehicles, mowers, and tractors. Personal and inappropriate use of City equipment is a violation of <br />City policy. Employees should have no expectation of privacy as it relates to information on City <br />facilities or stored in or on City equipment. It is the responsibility of the department heads to monitor <br />and ensure the proper use of such equipment. Department heads may monitor the use of telephones, <br />e-mail, voice mail, facsimiles, u.s. mail, Internet and other electronic communications which may <br />include video monitoring in public areas of facilities. Unsafe or inappropriate use of City equipment <br />or facilities could result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. <br /> <br />43 <br /> <br />Rev. 10/27/04 <br />
