<br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />PARIS JUNIOR COLLEGE <br />BOBBY R. WALTERS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY BUILDING, ROOM 1206 <br />WEST ENTRANCE <br />2400 CLARKSVILLE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, JULY 28, 2003 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A.The following members were present: <br />Ann Rogers <br />Paul Denney <br />Jerry Raper <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Barbara Wilson <br />B.The following members were absent: <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Linda Ryan <br />Becki Norment <br />C.Also present were Tommy Haynes, Historic Preservation Officer and <br />Susie Harper, Guest. <br />2. <br />Presentation of the minutes from the April 3, 2003 and June 30, 2003, meeting. <br />Motion to approve the minutes of the April 3, 2003, meeting was made by Sue <br />Lancaster, seconded by Jerry Raper. Motion to approve the minutes of the <br />June 30, 2003 meeting was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Ann <br />Rogers. Motion carried unanimously. <br />3. <br />Discussion and input on a proposal from the Lamar County Chamber of <br />Commerce to install glass sound barrier partitions above the offices on the <br />Arvin Starrett stated that this will not be a usual action <br />first floor of the Depot. <br />for the Commission, involving changes to the interiors of properties. <br />However, since this property is owned by the municipality, the City will be <br />asking for an approval on certain items, perhaps of interior status on <br />properties belonging to the City. Gary Vest proposed that one-half inch of <br />safety glass be put in above the walls. The glass will be framed in wood and <br />painted the same color as the existing walls. It was recommended by Ron <br />with Preservation Texas that this type of partitioning be added. On advice of <br /> <br />
