<br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY HALL WEST ANNEX <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />150 1ST STREET S.E. <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 24, 2005 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />1.The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A.The following members were present: <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Paul Denney <br />Jerry Raper <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Alternate:Brian Wear <br />B.The following members were absent: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice-Chairman <br />Alternate:Becki Norment <br />C.Also present were Carrie Zaboroski with ArchiTexas and Janice <br />Wortham. <br />2. <br />Discussion of and possible action on approving the following Certificates of <br />Appropriateness: <br />A.Grand Avenue and 2nd Street S.W. (PJC Parking Lot) - City of Paris <br />Millie McDonald presented a picture of a rectangular sign <br />Main Street. <br />that is on top of the building and stated that McEntire Sign Company <br />has agreed to make a double-sided sign at the site of the existing sign. <br />The Board opposed the idea of using the existing sign on top of the <br />building. The Board agreed that the colors for the sign as presented <br />were appropriate. The dimensions of 24' x 30' for the larger sign and <br />4' x 6' for the smaller sign were also approved. Motion to approve the <br />COA was made by Claudia Hunt, seconded by Ann Rogers with the City <br />placing the sign where deemed necessary. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />
