<br />MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY HALL WEST ANNEX <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY MAY 9, 2005 <br />12:00 O’CLOCK NOON <br />1.The Board of Adjustment Board meeting was called to order by Chairman <br />John Mark Spencer at 12:00 p.m. <br />A.The following members were present: <br />Terry Christian <br />Rodney Bass <br />Howard Corriston <br />Kyle McCarley <br />B.The following members were absent: <br />Alternates:Richard Manning <br />David Glass <br />C.Also present was Lisa Wright, Director of Community Development. <br />2. <br />Public Hearing to consider the petition of Glenn Bertleson granting a variance <br />of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Sections 9-701 and 13-101, for a 5 foot variance <br />from the back property line setback and relief on the amount of lot coverage, <br /> Frank Poye, 508 S. <br />on Lot 5, City Block 179, located at 509 S. Main Street. <br />Main, spoke in favor of granting the variance because thought it would be an <br />improvement to the property. Lisa Wright explained that this item will also <br />go before the Historic Preservation Commission to make sure that the <br />materials and colors are appropriate for the district. <br />3. <br />Consideration of and action on the petition of Glenn Bertleson granting a <br />variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Sections 9-701 and 13-101, for a 5 foot <br />variance from the back property line setback and relief on the amount of lot <br /> Motion to <br />coverage, on Lot 5, City Block 179, located at 509 S. Main Street. <br />grant the variance was made by Rodney Bass, seconded by Terry Christian. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />4. <br />Public Hearing to consider the petition of Tommy Whitten to grant a variance <br />of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Sections 13-101 b. and c., for a 9 foot variance <br />from the side yard (which is located on a side street) and a 2 foot variance <br />from the back property line, on Lot 5, Block D, Oak Creek Phase I, located at <br /> <br />
