<br />June 27,2005 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Becki Norment questioned what would happen if the owner never <br />restored the building, and Chairman Starrett advised that they would <br />have to put glass in after one year. The Commission requested that <br />paragraph "g" be clarified to add that the owner must place glass in the <br />windows. <br /> <br />Barbara Wilson noted that in "j," suñace mounted mullions are <br />prohibited; however, that's all you can get now unless you have them <br />custom built. The Commission requested that "j" be amended to <br />required that, if suñace mounted mullions are used, they must match <br />the building design and must be approved by the Commission. Motion <br />to effect this recommendation was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded <br />by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Barbara Wilson recommended that section "d" be amended to include <br />a provision for "Low E" film. The Commission recommended that the <br />section be revised to allow for "Low E glass or film." Arvin Starrett <br />stated that he was still of favor of keeping owners from painting glass <br />to affect the reflectivity thereof. Motion to effect this recommendation <br />was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Brian Wear. Motion carried <br />7 -0. The Commission requested that this item be agendaed again at the <br />next meeting. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Amending the proposed Design Guidelines for the Downtown Historic <br />District as the same relates to fences. Motion to table was made by <br />Paul Denny, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />Designating an area of Paris for Phase III of the Historic Resource <br />Survey. After discussion, the Commission recommend that the grant <br />be written to request funding for a survey of the industrial district. <br />Motion made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Paul Denny. Motion <br />carried 7-0. <br /> <br />E. <br /> <br />Nominating individuals for the Annual Preservationist Award. Paul <br />Denney recommended Mike Folmar and Mark and Linda Whitney. <br />Barbara Wilson recommended Bill Payne for the law firm building. <br /> <br />F. <br /> <br />Recommending revisions to the draft ordinance regulating outside <br />storage. Lisa Wright reminded the Commission that she had provided <br />a draft ordinance previously as part of her HPO report. She advised <br />that this ordinance had come up at a Visionaries meeting, and some <br />local attorneys were nominated to help assist with researching and <br /> <br />I <br />
