Paul Denny advised the Commission that this was an old Queen <br />Anne style house and that there are not many left. He also stated that there <br />was not much fire damage, so he didn't think the house was that bad. The <br />Historic Preservation Officer advised the Commission that Code Enforcement <br />could obtain an administrative search warrant to go, into the house, and the <br />Commission agreed they would like to have that done. Motion to delay action <br />for 90 days was made by Paul Denny, seconded by Barbara Wilson. Motion <br />carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Item 4.J. Paul Denny stated that this was an old cottage-style house. Motion <br />to delay action for 90 days was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Sue <br />Lancaster. Motion carried 7-0. The Commission requested that an <br />administrative search warrant be obtained for this house also. <br /> <br />----- END CONSENT AGENDA ----- <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Consideration of and possible action on the following: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Amending the proposed Design Guidelines for the Downtown Historic <br />District as the same relates to canopies. Motion to table this item until <br />the next meeting in order to give more time to review the new <br />information provided at the meeting was made by Brian Wear, <br />seconded by Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Amending the proposed Design Guidelines for the Downtown Historic <br />District as the same relates to fenestrations and openings. Motion to <br />remove this item from the table was made by Brian Wear, seconded by <br />Paul Denny. Motion carried 7-0. Chairman Starrett noted that there <br />was an omission in the description and diagrams prepared by <br />ArchiTexas. The windows recently approved for the Gibraltar were <br />shown to be prevalent in the community, so he recommended that 3/1 <br />be added to the guidelines. Motion to amend the guidelines to allow 3/1 <br />windows was made by Sue Lancaster, seconded by Brian Wear. Motion <br />carries 7-0. <br /> <br />The HPO reported that, in her research, she found some cities that did <br />not allow boarding of windows at all; instead, property owners were <br />required to place glass in the windows. Barbara Wilson stated that we <br />needed to allow some form of moth balling. Paul Denney stated that <br />there was nota problem as long as we required the wood to be painted. <br /> <br />I <br />
