B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Holland Harper, seconded by James Price to approve the zoning <br />change. Motion carried 5-0. <br />4. Consideration of and action on the Pr-eliminary Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Southside Baptist <br />188-E Addition, being located at 790 Jefferson Road. <br />Shawn Napier, City Engineer stated we have already received the corrections from Jim <br />Nelson with Nelson Surveying. Motion was made by Keith Flowers, seconded by <br />Holland Harper to approve the preliininary plat. Motion carried 5-0. <br />5. Consideiā€¢ation of and action on the Final Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Southside Baptist 188-E <br />Addition, being located at 790 Jeff ~rson Road. <br />Shawn Napier, City Engineer stated all corrections have been tnade and a variance request <br />for curb and gutter will be submitted to City Council for approval. Jerry Akers stated the <br />property is covered up with buildings, but they are just now getting it platted. Shawn <br />Napier stated this was not too uncommon years ago to build on unplatted property. The <br />ordinances have changed and moving forward if you extend or build new you must plat the <br />property. Ron Thrasher, Chairman of the Building Committee for Southside Baptist <br />stated they will be tearing down the oldest of the buildings, it is currently termite infested. <br />The new building will house the sanctuary, offices and a nursery area. Shawn Napier <br />asked which buildings would be removed. Mr. Thrasher stated the L shaped building you <br />see on the screen is currently housing the sanctuary and fellowship hall and that portion <br />will be removed and rebuilt. Mr. Thrasher further stated the church is growing and they <br />need additional room. Motion was inade by Holland Harper, seconded by Keith Flowers to <br />approve the final plat.
