FUNCTIONS OF PROPOSED PROJECT: <br />The funCtions of the projeCt should: (Please limit information to 300 words) <br />• Identify the service needs to be met by this project and the applicant's experience or qualifications. <br />• Describe how this project will cooperate/coordinate activities with other appropriate agencies/ <br />projects. <br />• Describe in what way (if any) is this project innovative and what methods taken to assure that the <br />project demonstrates cross-cultural awareness in all project activities and in its staffing and <br />training. <br />The Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task force currently consists of (2) two Detectives. We attend a Regional Criminal Intelligence <br />Meeting every month, enhancing intelligence and contacts within our 10 county service area. Expanding the program and our <br />ability to serve each of these counties, we are proposing to add an additional detective to the Task Force this year though a <br />cooperative agreement with the Lamar County Sheriffs Department. <br />4. EVALUATION DESIGN: <br />• The program evaluation should indicate how the applicant will assess the success of the project <br />and the extent to which the strategy achieved the project's goals and objectives. <br />a. Describe the design of a plan for local evaluation of this project. <br />' We plan to assess the success of the program based on the programs completion of stated goals and objectives set out above and to <br />evaluate the program semi-annually to ensure the program is on track and meeting the stated goals and objectives. This evaluation <br />will be completed by the Lieutenant of the Paris Police Department Criminal Investigation Division or his designee. <br />b. Cite relevant data that will be used to measure the effectiveness of this project. <br />! The relevant data used to evaluate the program will be the goals and objectives set out above such as arrests, cases filed, cases <br />cleared, 68'A's, salvage yard inspections, recovered motor vehicles and auto theft and auto burglary cases cleared. This combined <br />with the estimated number of people contacted by the public awareness events the task force participates in and media awareness <br />developed by the task forces' efforts. <br />c.
