(Job posting can not substitufe <br />for descriptive narrative for each position.) <br />• Include only one position per line. <br />• Percentage of salary to be funded by grant funds. <br />• Should reflect employee's gross salary attributable to the project. <br />• Include percent of time on auto theft for each position. (40 hours per week) <br />The Senior Detective will be in charge of the day to day operations of the Auto Theft Task Force and shall be subject to the direct <br />supervision of a Sergeant within the Criminal Investigations Division of the Paris Police Department and within the DepartmenYs <br />Chain of Command up to the Chief of Police. The Senior Detective will be subject to such orders as the Chief of Police or his designee <br />may prescribe, not inconsistent with the laws on the State of Texas or the mandates of the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention <br />Authority grant. <br />The Senior Detective shall devote 100% of his time to official duties, unless granted leave by the Chief of Police or his designee. <br />The Senior Detective's responsibilities shall be: <br />1) Supervise the Task Force in all of its operations. <br />2) Keep the proper records and be responsible for the maintenance of all reports to the State of Texas and the Chief of Police. <br />3) Work with every responsible, legitimate group or agency in a cooperative effort to prevent motor vehicle theft by educating the <br />public and law enforcement officers in the area of motor vehicle crimes. <br />4) Work diligently and relentlessly in the investigation of, and pursuit of, all crimes involving motor vehicles. <br />5) Enforce all laws relating to the theft of motor vehicles. <br />6) Assist in the prosecution of all those charged with the crime of motor vehicle theft or related crimes. <br />The Senior Detective's direct salary will be paid by the grant and his/her fringe benefits will be paid by the City of Paris and will <br />be listed as cash match. <br />The Detective/Investigator (2)-One position will be filled from the Paris Police Department and one position from the Paris Police <br />Department and he/she shall devote 100% of his time to official duties, unless granted leave by the Chief of Police or Sheriff of <br />Lamar County or their designee.
