<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> "Section 506.2, Hazardous Season, is deleted. <br /> <br /> "Section 603.5, Fire Extinguishers in Recreational Vehicle Parks, is deleted. <br /> <br /> "Section 603.7, Fire Protective Signaling System, is amended by adding the following <br /> paragraph thereto: <br /> <br /> "`Section 603.7.7, Residential Fire Alarm Installation <br /> "`(a) In addition to the requirements of Section 603.7, every <br /> <br /> dwelling unit henceforth constructed or placed within the City shall <br /> have fire detection devices capable of sensing products of <br /> combustion installed which are supplied by a direct connection to <br /> the 120 volts alternating current electrical system. <br /> <br /> "`(b) Alarm devices operating from a battery power source or <br /> those utilizing a cord for plug into electrical outlets are expressly <br /> prohibited in such new construction; however, a battery power <br /> source used as a backup to 120 volts alternating current electrical <br /> system is permitted and encouraged. <br /> <br /> "`(c) Installation, design and operation of all residential single <br /> station alarms shall conform to the Standard for the Installation, <br /> Maintenance and Use of Household Fire Warning Equipment, <br /> 1989 Edition (NFPA 74) and the Standard for the Installation, <br /> Maintenance and Use of Local Protective Signaling Systems for <br /> Guard's Tour, Fire Alarm and Supervisory Service, 1990 Edition <br /> (NFPA 72A) and shall be listed by a nationally accepted testing <br /> authority. <br /> "`(d) It shall be a violation of this Code for any person to <br /> remove, tamper, destroy, disconnect or in any manner render <br /> detectors inoperative. <br /> <br /> "`(e) It shall be unlawful to maintain a residence with an alarm <br /> which is not totally operable.' <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> "Sec. 12-89. Permit fees. <br /> <br /> "The City Manager is authorized to establish permit fees for all permits required <br /> by the Standard Fire Prevention Code, 1994 Edition. Such permit fees as <br /> established by the City Manager shall be made available to the public through the <br /> Fire Marshal's office." <br /> <br /> Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty <br /> of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and <br /> each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall <br /> constitute and be deemed a separate offense. <br /> <br /> Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby <br /> expressly repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
