<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 96-010 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE <br /> CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVI5ING CHAPTER <br /> 25, ARTICLE II, SECTIONS 25-16 AND 25-17 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR <br /> ADOPTION OF THE STANDARD PLUMBING CODE, 1994 EDITION; PROVIDING <br /> FOR DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS AND AMENDMENTS TO SAID CODE; <br /> PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL <br /> ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 1996. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 25, Article II, Sections 25-16 and 25-17 of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, amended so that <br /> such shall read as follows: <br /> <br /> "5ection 25-16. Standard Plumbing Code - Adoption. <br /> <br /> "For the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the installation, <br /> alteration or repair of pipes, fittings and fixtures for water and sewers in all <br /> buildings and structures and on all property now erected or to be erected, <br /> changed, constructed, reconstructed, repaired or altered in the City and outside <br /> the City, if the same are connected to either the City water or sewage systems, <br /> and further regulating the construction, erection, enlargement, alteration or repair <br /> of all piping, fittings, fixtures, etc., used for the conduction of water or sewage, <br /> and in, on or about any and all premises in the City and outside the boundaries <br /> of the City, if the same are connected to either the City water or sewage systems, <br /> that certain plumbing code known as the Standard Plumbing Code, 1994 Edition, <br /> save and except such portions as are deleted, modified or amended by this article, <br /> is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein. A copy <br /> of such Code has been and is now on file in the office of the City Clerk and the <br /> provisions thereof shall be controlling as above stated. <br /> <br /> "Section 25-17. Standard Plumbing Code - Amendments. <br /> <br /> "The Code adopted by Section 25-16 is hereby amended as set out in this <br /> section: <br /> "Section 104, Permits, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraphs thereto: <br /> <br /> "`Section 104.1.1.1, Persons Who May Obtain a Permit <br /> <br /> "`Plumbing permits may be obtained by the following: <br /> <br /> "`(a) Any person having a current master plumber license issued <br /> by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners; <br /> <br /> "`(b) Any person who is doing plumbing work in a building <br /> owned and occupied by that person as a homestead; or <br /> <br /> "`(c) Any appliance dealer or employee of an appliance dealer <br /> who is acting as an appliance installation or service man in <br /> connecting appliances to existing piping installations.' <br /> <br /> <br /> "`Section 104.1.6, False Statement or Bad Faith <br /> <br /> "`Any person who shall willfully make any false statement in <br /> order to obtain a permit shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and <br />
