<br /> AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE CITY
<br />
<br /> OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERS, AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE
<br /> CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS REMAINING ON THE PREMISES TO
<br /> CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AND
<br /> A HAZARD TO THE LIFE AND WELFARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND
<br /> ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND REFUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE TORN
<br /> DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE.
<br /> WHEREAS, a public hearing was called to order by the Mayor of the City of Paris, George
<br /> Fisher, on the llth day of April, 1994, at 6:00 o'clock P.M., in the Municipal Court Room, Police
<br /> and Courts Building, in the City of Paris, Texas; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard Inspection Committee fixed a date
<br /> for hearing on the resolution referred to the Committee by the City Council on the lOth day of
<br /> February, 1994, and said Committee fixed said hearing at 10:00 o'clock A.M. on the llth day of
<br /> March, 1994, and the hearing was had thereon. That proper notice was given to the owner or owners
<br /> of the structures located at the following addresses:

<br /> 1106 3rd St. S.W., N 75' Lot 4& 14' of N 75' Lot 3, Block 1, Locust Hill Addition
<br /> 649-655 Sth St. N.E., Lot 37, City Block 60
<br /> 956 & 964 E. Tudor, Lot 17, City Block 69
<br /> 1150 6th St. N.E., Lot 7, Block l, Hull Addition
<br /> 1840 Fitzhugh, Lot 9, Block A, East Park Addition
<br /> 1451 12th St. N.E., Lot 10, Block O, East Park Addition
<br /> 1 ll2 14th St. N.E., Lots 9& 11, Block 2, Harlan Heights Addition
<br /> 2630 W. Houston, Lots 18-19, Block 2, Sperry 3rd Addition
<br /> 536 W. Houston, Lot 3, City Block 44A
<br /> 1421 W. Kaufman, Lots 11, 12, & 13, Block 1, Talkington-Hodge Addition

<br /> That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures involved and introduced pictures of the various
<br /> portions of the structures and various portions of the premises involved and a list of discrepancies in
<br /> the structures located thereon. That the Committee found that each of the above structures was in such
<br /> state of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and property and that
<br /> each of said buildings was dilapidated and was dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures
<br /> to life and property. That said buildings are in such a state of dilapidation and decay that none of said
<br /> structures are capable of repair. It is further found that the condition of the premises and structures
<br /> involved was such that the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be declared a
<br /> nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered by the City Council to tear down and remove the same
<br /> from the lots involved. That said Committee filed a complete report of its hearing and its findings
<br /> with the City Clerk of the City of Paris on the 21 st day of March, 1994; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that proper notice was given to the owner or owners
<br /> of the structures hereinafter listed. That at said hearing on the llth day of March, 1994, the
<br /> Committee listed the structures involved and introduced pictures of the various portions the structures
<br /> and various portions of the premises involved and a list of discrepancies in the structures located
<br /> thereon. That the Committee found that each of the hereinafter listed structures was in such a state
<br /> of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and property, and that each
<br /> of said buildings was dilapidated and dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures to life
<br /> and property. That the owners of the property appeared before the Committee and requested time to
<br /> repair the structures or the Committee found that the structures could be repaired. That it was the
<br /> recommendation of the Committee that the structures be condemned or repaired and that the respective
<br /> owners thereof be given the time to abate said nuisance by repair or removal as is set out in connection
<br /> with each of such addresses, as follows:

<br /> 121-141 lst St. N.E., 30 days to obtain permits and submit plan for renovation
<br /> Lot 3, City Block 11 and 90 days to make repairs.
<br />
<br /> 624 Sth St. N.E., Lot 7, 60 days to transfer title to new owners and
<br /> City Block 61 (funeral home) 6 months to make repairs.
