Duty of inembers to wear uniform. <br /> <br /> "Each member of the police reserve unit shall wear the uniform while performing <br /> duties pertaining to police department activities. Members shall also wear the <br /> uniform to monthly meetings as determined by the commanding officer of the <br /> police reserve unit. <br /> <br /> "Sec. 26-33. Member's holster and weapon. <br /> <br /> "(a) Each member of the police reserve unit shall furnish his own belts and <br /> holster, both of which shall be black in color. He shall also furnish his own pistol <br /> or revolver which shall be .38 caliber or larger. All weapons shall be kept in <br /> excellent service condition at all times. <br /> <br /> "(b) Any police reserve officer who has attained full certification as a basic peace <br /> officer for the State of Texas and is licensed as such shall be considered as being on- <br /> duty at all times. An officer meeting these requirements is authorized to carry, at his <br /> discretion, a weapon for which he has been certified. The weapon shall be kept out <br /> of view of the general public. If a weapon is carried, the officer must have his badge <br /> on his person. The weapon is not to be carried on his person where he works or <br /> while he is a representative of any other employment. <br /> <br /> "(c) Any police reserve officer who has not attained full certification as a basic <br /> peace officer for the State of Texas shall be considered as being on-duty only when <br /> he is in uniform and assigned to ride patrol or work special events. This officer shall <br /> not carry a weapon on his person when he is off duty. <br /> <br /> "Sec. 26-34. Members subject to supervision by police officers. <br /> <br /> "At all times when a member of the police reserve unit is accompanied by a member <br /> of the regular police department, the member of the regular police department will <br /> be the person in charge of the operation being accomplished. <br /> <br /> "Sec. 26-35. Termination of inembership; suspension or demotion of inember. <br /> <br /> "(a) Any member of the police reserve unit may, of his own volition, terminate his <br /> membership. In addition, any member may be removed, suspended, or demoted for: <br /> <br /> <br /> "(1) A flagrant and serious violation of reserve unit or police department <br /> rules and regulations, or <br /> <br /> "(2) Repeated minor violations of reserve unit or police department rules <br /> and regulations. <br /> <br /> "The supervisory staff of the police reserve unit shall make recommendations to the <br /> chief of police on disciplinary actions regarding members of the unit. The chief of <br /> police will make the final determination. The members of the police reserve unit <br /> serve at the discretion and under the administration and discipline of the chief of <br /> police. <br /> <br /> "(b) When a member of the police reserve unit is terminated for any reason, all <br /> uniforms, badges, identification, and other equipment shall be returned to the supply <br /> sergeant in reasonable condition.
