<br /> "Sec. 11-50. Licenses from other cities.
<br />
<br /> "The City of Paris will only reciprocate electrical licenses with those cities that
<br /> are members of SBCCI."
<br />
<br /> Section 4. That Chapter 11, Article IV, Section 11-91 of the Code of Ordinances of the
<br /> City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as
<br /> follows:
<br />
<br /> "Sec. 11-91. National Electrical Code - Adoption
<br />
<br /> "For the purpose of practical safeguarding of persons and of buildings and their
<br /> contents from hazards arising from the use of electricity for light, heat, power,
<br /> radio, signaling, and for other purposes, that certain electrical code knows as the
<br />
<br /> National Electrical Code, 1996 Edition, published by the National Fire Protection
<br /> Association, save and except such portions as are deleted, modified, or amended
<br /> by this article, is hereby adopted as the minimum standards for the city, and the
<br /> same is hereby incorporated as fully as if set out at length. A copy of such code
<br /> has been and is now on file in the oftice of the City Clerk, and the provisions
<br /> thereof shall be controlli»g in the installation of all electrical wiring, devices, and
<br /> equipment within the corporate limits of the city."
<br />
<br /> Section 5. That Chapter 11, Article IV, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris,
<br /> Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended by adding a section to be numbered 11-95 to
<br /> read as follows:
<br />
<br /> "Sec. 11-95. Location of Ground N'ault Receptacles (GFI).
<br />
<br /> "Ground Fault Receptacles will be installed along all counter top space within six
<br /> (6) feet of any source of water, in all bathrooms, all locations outdoors, and in
<br /> garages if located within six (6) feet of any opening to the outside."

<br /> SecNon 6. That Chapter 11, Article IV, of the Code of Ordinances of the Ciry of Paris,
<br /> Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended by adding a section to be numbered 11-99 to
<br /> read as follows:
<br />
<br /> "Sec. 11-99. Temporary power poles.
<br />
<br /> "Temporary power poles are permittecl for a period not to exceed six (6) months."
<br />
<br /> Section 7. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of
<br /> a Misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and each
<br /> and every day's continuance of any violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute and
<br /> be deemed a separate offense.
<br />
<br /> Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
<br /> repealed.
<br />
<br /> Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on June l, 1997.
