B. Pads must be monolithic concrete pad,16`dxlbb'x4b'. They must be set on firm prepared soil <br />below existing ground surface. <br />6.4. Steps <br />A. All steps must have treads a minimum of ten inches and a maximum rise of seven inches. They <br />must span full width of door opening or they must be minimum 36b' wicte at porches. <br />B. Pre-cast steps must be staadard size with no defeets. They must be set level with concrete bases <br />under each corner. Whar set, the rise from the top step to the wearing surface must be the same as <br />the rise for the steps or be in the wearing surface plana <br />C. Hollow poured steps must be formed and poured over an 8dx 16b' footer. Wall thickness must bc <br />minimum of4d. The tresds must be broom finishat. <br />6.5. Slab on Grade <br />A. All eonerete stabs must be poured tuonolithieally and be a minimum of 4" thick. Reinforcing <br />must be 6b'x 6d, Number 6 welded wire fabric unless otherwise spocified. Top of slab poured on <br />existing grade must be a minimum of hb' above surroundiag soil level. All slab designs and <br />executions must concur with the reyuirements of the Southere Building code. <br />A. Before concr+ete is poured, a slab iaspectaon must be requested from the Contract Administrator <br />and then pass inspection. A!l slabs and driveways muat meet Contract Administrator codes. <br />B. Walks must be poured monolithic to expaasion joints. Reinforcing must be 6b' x 6b', number 10 <br />welded wiro fabric. Width must be a minimum of 36b, wide with a broom finish. Control joints <br />must be spaced the width of the waik. Expansion joints roust be spaced at a maximuro of 203, at <br />all radius points, elevation changes (i.e. steps, porches, etc.) and at back of curb. Expaosion joint <br />material can be'hb' asphalt impregnated material or'/sb' redwood. Slab thickness must be a <br />minimum of 4b. <br />C. Driveways must be monolithic poured slab with a broom finish and a minimum thickness of 4", <br />Reinforcing must be 6d x 6t/ number 10 welded wire fabric. The slab will be powed on a 2d, <br />sand cushion (compacted). Expansion joints will be spacai a msximum of 20 linear feet not to <br />exceed 30 sq. yands in one block. Expansion joints will be used at all radius poiots, sidewalk <br />intersections and house slab tio-ins. Expansion joint materisls can be h", asphalt impregnated <br />material or'/:,,, redwood. <br />E. Exterior beams must have a minimum width at top of beam of 18`d, and may taper down to 14d at <br />the bottom. Exurior beams to have a minimum of 4, #5 (5/8 b') rebars, two (2) at the top and two <br />(2) at the bottom, set on 3/8t/ stirrups or #6 wire mesh cut to fit. Exterior beam must txtend a <br />minimum of 6'd into undisturbed soil. Exterior beam must be a minimum of 243 in height. <br />F. Interior beams must be minimum of 18b', in height and should have two #4 (1/2t!) rebats side by <br />side 6`d, off bottom of beam set in 3/8b' stinups or #6 wire mesh cut to fit at 33 O/C. Interior <br />beams width to be 16b' in width at top and may taper to 8b at bottom. #4 rebar to have a <br />minimum lap of 12". #5 rebar to have a minimum lap of 15". Interior beam to extend 3b', below <br />undistiurbed soil. <br />G. All slab and beam specifications listed herc must be used unless thc Contract Administrator's <br />Building Code requirements or specifications exeeed these specifications. All siab designs and <br />executions must concur with the requirements of the Soathern Building code. <br />6.6.
