Lead 5 mg/1 <br />f. Generator: The OWNER of the tank is the generator for this project. <br />The CONTRACTOR for the lead paint removal on the tank is a co-generator. <br />g. Containment System: Includes the containment structure i.e., walls, floor, <br />supporting structure and entryways used to surround the tank to control the <br />dust and debris generated by the Contractor during lead paint removal. <br />h. Ventilation System: Includes forced air input such as fans or blowers to <br />circulate air inside containment structure and exhaust air filtration such as dust <br />collectors to trap and filter air before it leaves the containment structure. <br />35.04 ABRASIVE BLASTING CONTROL REQUIREMENTS <br />4.1 The control requirements of TCEQ TACB Reg. 1 for coatings containing <br />more than 10,000 ppm lead are the control requirements for removing the <br />lead coating by abrasive operations. <br />4.2 Shrouded wet abrasive or hydroblast are the only methods approved for <br />removal of the exterior coatings on this project. <br />4.3 Dry abrasive blasting of the interior coating is approved as long as no <br />visible emissions to the atmosphere result from such cleaning. <br />35.05 CRITERIA FOR CONTAINMENT SYSTEM <br />1. The Contractor will design a containment system for the work area that is an <br />SSPC Class 2A or better in accordance with above reference SSPC Guide 6 <br />(CON). See Table at the end of this document. <br />The containment will control environmental emissions according to the criteria <br />listed in Section 35.06 of this specification and control the working environment <br />within the containment according to the criteria listed in Section 35.07 of this <br />specification. <br />In the event of a conflict between SSPC Guide 6(CON) and this specification, <br />the requirements of this specification will prevail. <br />In addition to the containment structure, ground covers will be used beneath <br />the containment to prevent contamination of the soil. <br />The Class 2A Containment must have all of the following components: <br />TS35-2 <br />463 <br />
