The <br /> policy applies equally to all private offices out <br /> of fairness to other employees who must leave <br /> their work sites to smoke, and because most <br /> private offices are connected to common ventila- <br /> tion systems. <br /> Sec. 15-34. Notification. <br /> a. No Smoking signs shall be posted in all <br /> areas where smoking is prohibited. <br /> <br /> b. The Personnel Director is authorized to <br /> announce the terms of the smoking policy <br /> to all employees working for the city <br /> immediately after adoption of this <br /> ordinance. <br /> c. All city job announcemetits will include <br /> notification of the smoking policy which <br /> sha.ll be a term and condition of employ- <br /> ment with the City of Paris. <br /> Sec. 15-35. Penalty. <br /> <br /> Any person violating any of the provisions of <br /> this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" <br /> Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in <br /> any sum nat to exceed $200.00. <br /> Sec. 15-36. Exceptions. <br /> <br /> It is a defense to prosecution under this <br /> section that the areas in which the offense takes <br /> place does not have prominently displayed a <br /> reasonably sized notice that smoking is prohibited <br /> by Article III of Chapter 15 of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City of Paris and that an <br /> offense is punishable by a fine not to exceed <br /> $200." <br /> Section 2. Any person violating any of the pro- <br /> visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" <br /> Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum <br /> not to exceed $200.00. <br /> Section 3. A1l ordinances or parts of ordinances in <br /> conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
