<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE N0. $6p031 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br /> PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE <br /> AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 262-9 (N), 262-10, 262-18, <br /> 26 ;-19, 26 2-21 (G) , 26 2-26, 26 2-28, 26 2-30 AND 26 2-32 OF <br /> SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR TIiE REGULATION OF TORPEDO SIGNS <br /> WITHIN THE CITY OF PARIS AND TNCORPORATING 5TATE LAW RE- <br /> QUIREMENTS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; <br /> REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br /> HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, <br /> 1986. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PARIS: <br /> Section 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City <br /> of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising Section 262-9 <br /> (n) so that such shall read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Sec. 262-9. Prohibited Signs. <br /> (n) Tor edo si ns. Signs that are of the <br /> portable type t at can be moved from location to <br /> location, usually exhibiting flashing lights or <br /> changeable messages. No torpedo sign shall be <br /> constructed or placed in the City of Paris which <br /> fails to meet the requirements of Sections 262-3, <br /> 26 z-10, 26 2-13, 26 2-18 and any other applicable <br /> section of this chapter of the Code of Ordinances <br /> of the City of Paris. All torpedo signs must be <br /> covered by a valid sign permit which will expire <br /> one year from date of issuance. If a torpedo sign <br /> is not exhibited in the same location or not <br /> continuously throughout the permit period, only <br /> one permit is required; however, an inspection is <br /> required on each occasion of relocation or <br /> location change." <br /> Section 2. That the Code of Ordinances of the City <br /> of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by revising Section <br /> 262-10 so that such shall read as follows: <br /> "Sec. 26z-10. Billboards, ground sign and <br /> torpedo signs - Location. <br /> No billboard, ground sign or torpedo sign <br /> shall be erected or placed in or project over any <br /> street or alley right of way, or public space. <br /> No billboard, ground sign or torpedo sign <br /> shall be erected within 20 feet of any residence <br /> or be so placed as to obstruct the lighting of any <br /> street, alley or public space, or interfere with <br /> any public utility service. <br /> <br /> No billboard, ground sign or torpedo sign <br /> shall be closer than 6 feet to any building, nor <br /> to the side of any lot, nor closer than 15 feet to <br /> ar~y curb line; furthermore, in all cases where a <br /> billboard is within 50 feet of a building and the <br /> front line of said buildirig is more than 15 feet <br /> f_rom the curb line, then the billboard, ground <br /> sign or torpedo sign shall nat be nearer to the <br /> curb line than the front line of the building is <br /> from the curb line." <br />
