<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> (a) Plasticity index of 0 through 15 <br /> shall require no stabilization. <br /> (b) Plasticity index of 15 through 25 <br /> shall be stabilized with four (4) <br /> percent lime by weight. <br /> <br /> (c) Plasticity index of 25 through 35 <br /> shall be stabilized with five (5) <br /> percent lime by weight. <br /> (d) Plasticity index of 35 or above <br /> shall be stabilized with six (6) <br /> percent lime by weight. <br /> <br /> (2) In the event the subgrade is to be <br /> removed to the depth of 6" below the <br /> pavement of the street and filled with <br /> select fill of a plasticity index of 0 <br /> through 15, no stabilization shall be <br /> required. <br /> (3) All plasticity indexes to be determined <br /> by an independent testing laboratory <br /> approved by the City of Paris with the <br /> certified results of same being fur- <br /> nished to the City Engineer with <br /> construction plans. All arterial <br /> streets subgrade shall be as required by <br /> the City Engineer and shall meet or <br /> exceed the subgrade required for local <br /> and collector streets. All subgrades <br /> shall have density control as required <br /> by the City Engineer. <br /> D. Street Pavement. <br /> (1) Al1 local streets shall be constructed <br /> of six (6) inches of continuously <br /> reinforced portland cement concrete with <br /> No. 3 Grade 60 deformed bars spaced at <br /> eighteen inches in each direction. <br /> (2) All collector streets shall be con- <br /> structed of seven (7) inches of <br /> continuously reinforced portland cement <br /> concrete with No. 4 Grade 60 deformed <br /> bars spaced at eighteen inches in each <br /> direction. <br /> (3) All arterial streets shall be construct- <br /> ed of continuously reinforced portland <br /> cement concrete as required by the City <br /> Engineer, but in no case shall it be <br /> less than that required for a collector <br /> street. <br /> (4) The concrete mix will be designed to <br /> produce a minimum compressive strength <br /> of 3000 psi at 28 days and shall contain <br /> not less than five sacks of cement per <br /> cubic yard of concrete. The water <br /> ceMent ratio (net gallons of water per <br /> sack of 94 pounds of cement) shall not <br /> exceed 6.25 gallons/sack. The gradation <br /> requirements for the course and fine <br /> aggregates shall be as required by Item <br /> 360 of the Standard Specifications <br /> described in section 27-20 of the City <br /> of Paris Code of Ordinances." <br />
