<br /> AN ORDIrdANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS,
<br /> PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE
<br /> AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 7, OF SAID CODE;
<br /> PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE,
<br /> 1982 EDITION; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY rTOT TO EXCEED
<br /> $1,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PAF.TS OF ORDINANCES
<br /> IN CONFLICT HEREWT_TH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
<br /> riAxcx 1, 1984.
<br /> BE IT QRDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br /> PARIS:
<br /> Section l. That Section 7-14 of the Code of Oxdi-
<br /> nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so
<br /> that such sha11 read as follows:
<br />
<br /> "Sec. 7-14. Adopted.
<br />
<br /> For the purpose of establishing rules and
<br /> regulations for the construction, alteration,
<br /> removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy,
<br /> location and maintenance of buildings and struc-
<br /> tures, including permits ancl penalties, there is
<br /> hereby adopted as the building code of the city,
<br /> that certain building code known as the Standard
<br /> Building Code, 1982 Edition, save and except such
<br /> portions as a.re deleted, modified or amended by
<br /> this article, and the same is hereby adopted and
<br /> incorporated as fully as if set out at length
<br /> herein. A copy of such code has been and is now
<br /> on file in the office of the city clerk and the
<br /> provisions thereof shall be controlling in the
<br /> construction of all buildings and other structures
<br /> therein contained within the corporate limits of
<br /> the city."
<br /> Section 2. That Section 7-16 of the Code of Ordi-
<br /> nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be and the same
<br /> is hereby deleted.
<br /> Section 3. That Section 7-17 of the Code of Ordi-
<br /> nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be ar.iended so
<br /> that such shall read as follows:
<br /> "Sectian 7-17. Section 114 amended.
<br /> Section 114 of the building code adopted by
<br /> this article is hereby amended to read as follows:
<br /> 'A person who shall violate a provision of
<br /> this code or fails to comply therewith or with any
<br /> of the requirements thereof, or who shall erect,
<br /> construct, alter, or repair, or has erected,
<br /> constructed, altered, or repaired a building or
<br /> structure, in violation of a detailed statement or
<br /> plan submitted and approved thereunder, or of a.
<br /> permit or certificate issued thereunder, shall be
<br /> guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
<br /> therefor, sha11 be fined in any sum not exceeding
<br /> one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), and each and
<br /> every day's continuance of any violation of the
<br /> provisions of this code shall constitute and be
<br /> deemed a separate offense.' "
