Highway <br /> No. 82; <br /> THENCE in an easterly direction with a line <br /> that is 500 feet South of and parallel to the <br /> South boundary line of U. S. Highway No. 82 to the <br /> most Northerly East boundary line of the Joshua <br /> Moore Survey; <br /> THENCE Northerly with the East boundary line <br /> of said Moore Survey, and the East boundary line <br /> of the John Guffey Survey, a distance of 1,120 <br /> feet to a point that is 500 feet north of the <br /> north boundary line of U. S. Highway No. 82; <br /> THENCE in a Westerly direction with a line <br /> that is 500 feet North of and parallel to the <br /> North boundary line of U. S. Highway No. 82 to its <br /> intersection with the East line of Block B of <br /> Sunrise Estates, said point also being in the <br /> center line of a creek that runs North and South <br /> ar.d said point also being in the present City <br /> Limit line of the City of Paris; <br /> THEr?CE in a Southerly direction along the <br /> centeriine of said creek, 530 feet more or less to <br /> a point in the North boundary line of U. S. <br /> Highway No. 82; <br /> THENCE Westerly with the North boundary line <br /> of U. S. Highway No. 82, a distance of 2,015 feet <br /> more or less to the place of beginning and con- <br /> taining 149 acres more or less. <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Paris, <br /> Paris, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to cause <br /> notice of such public hearings to be published once in ths <br /> newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the <br /> above described territory not m.ore that twenty (20) days nor <br /> less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public <br /> hearings, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation <br /> Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular <br /> Session, 1963; compiled as Article 970a, Vernon's Texas <br /> Civil Statutes). <br /> Section 3. It is hereby declared to be the inten- <br /> tion of the City Council of the City of Paris that the <br /> sections, paragraphs, senten.ces, clauses and phrases of this <br /> ordinance are severable, and it any phrase, clause, sen- <br /> tence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be <br /> declared unconstitutional or invalid by the valid judgment <br /> or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such <br /> unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of <br /> the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and <br /> sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been <br /> enacted by the city Council without the incorporation in <br /> this ordinance of any unconstitutional or invalid phrases, <br /> clauses, sentences, paragraphs or sections. It is further <br /> hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council of <br /> the City of Paris to exclude any area or areas described in <br /> the description of the property to be annexed, which are not <br /> within said City's jurisdiction to annex and that such area <br /> or areas should be carved out of the description of the <br /> property herein described by the valid judgment or decree of <br /> a.ny court of competent jurisdiction, in order that such area <br /> or areas would not cause this annexation ordinance to be <br /> found to be invalid, voidable or void. <br /> Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect immedi- <br /> ately upon passage. <br />
