<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> any premises within the corporate limits of the <br /> City of Paris unless a permit is obtained for the <br /> installation of erection of such torch. Before <br /> beginning installation or erection of any open <br /> flame torch in the city, an applicant must submit <br /> a written request to the office of the fire <br /> marshal and include a plot plan showing the <br /> location of torches and their proximity to build- <br /> ings, vegetation and other combustibles, drive- <br /> ways, parking areas, streets and walkways. <br /> Cutaway drawings of the devise and the method of <br /> installation must also be submitted. All torch <br /> devices proposed to be installed must bear the <br /> seal of approval of the American Gas Association <br /> or other nationally recognized safety testing <br /> laboratories. If, after due consideration of the <br /> above items, a permit is issued, the installation <br /> must be made under the following conditions: <br /> (1) No combustibles, including shrubbery, <br /> shall be located within then (10) feet <br /> of the open flame. <br /> (2) A regulated orifice shall be placed <br /> within the supply line of each torch of <br /> such size to prevent a flame of over <br /> eighteen (18) inches in height above the <br /> burner outlet when the valve is fully <br /> open. <br /> (3) Gas shall be delivered to the device at <br /> a pressure not greater than the pressure <br /> normally provided for residential <br /> installations. <br /> (4) The height of the bottom of the burner <br /> of the torch shall be at least eight (8) <br /> feet above the adjacent ground level. <br /> (5) Torches adjacent to streets, parking <br /> areas, driveways, or walkways shall be <br /> curbed or otherwise barricaded to <br /> prevent mechanical damage. <br /> (6) Torches shall not be located closer than <br /> ten (10) feet to any street parking <br /> area, driveways or walkways. <br /> (7) Torches shall not be installed closer <br /> than ten (10) feet to any building or <br /> combustible material. <br /> <br /> (8) Installations shall be made in keeping <br /> with the regulations of the plumbing <br /> division of the City of Paris." <br /> <br /> Section 2. Any person violating any of the pro- <br /> visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" <br /> Misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum <br /> not to exceed $200.00, and each and every day's continuance <br /> of any violation of the above enumerated section shall <br /> constitute and be deemed a separate offense. <br /> Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in <br /> conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. <br /> Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on <br /> June 1, 1983. <br />
