83-075 ORD PROVIDING EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF COP AND ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 19.607 ACRES

WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas, and in the above described territory, on the 2nd day of October, 1983, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearings; and, WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the first day of January, 1983, was 14,122.64 acres; and, WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is in excess of 25,000 and less than 50,000 inhabi- tants; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 19.607 acres, more or less, which when added to other property annexed in the year 1983 is less than ten per cent (10%) of the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described property should be pro- perly zoned as of the date of annexation; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. The following described land and terri- tory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas is hereby added and annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and the present boundary limits of said City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit: Situated about 3 miles East from the City of Paris, County of Lamar and State of Texas, a part of the Joseph Leach Survey, Abstract No. 524, and being part of a 34.34 acre tract of land described as Third tract in Deed of Trust Records in Volume 108, Page 165 of the Deed of Trust Records of said County and State, which is a part of the same land described in a Deed from Charles Manton et ux to S. E. Smith on January l, 1902, of record in Volume 102, Page 464, and the land conveyed S. E. Smith by J. G. Marshall, January 18, 1902, of record in Volume 103, Page 6, of said Deed Records of said County and State, and being further described as follows: BEGINNING at an iron pin for corner in the East Boundary line of said Leach Survey, situated South 0° 30' 30" West with the East Boundary Line of said Leach Survey a distance of 611.1 feet from the Northeast corner of said 34.34 acre tract, same being in the South Boundary Line of U. S. Highway 82; THENCE South 0° 31' 30" West, with the East Boundary Line of said Leach Survey, a distance of 619.5 feet, a fence post for corner;
