ORDINANCE N0. 2597 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PRO- VIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 12-12 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR OUTSIDE FIRES AND OPEN FLAME TORCHES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY r10T TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL O SFOR ANREFFECTOIVEZDATEEOFIDECEMBERCl, H19811TH; AZdD PROVIDING BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That Section 12-12 of the Code of Ordi- nances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so that such shall read as follows: "Sec. 12-12. Outside Fires and Open Flame Torches. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to burn trash, brush, grass, leaves, paper, cloth, trees, boards, planks, lumber or any other character of debris or imflammable material whatsoever out-of- doors in the fire l.imits of the city for any purpose whatsoever, except c.ooking, washing and other purely domestic purposes. (b) Whenever it shall become necessary fc,r any person to have a fire out-of-doors and within ths fire limits, for cooking, washing or any other purely domestic purposes, such person is hereby required to build such fire in a fireproof container of some kind r.lade of brick, stone, metal or other fireproof ma- terial or to surround such fire with bricks, stone, netal or other fireproof material in such a way as to prevent such fire from escaping. (c) It shall be unlawful for any person or firm to burn trash, brush, grass, leaves, paper, cloth, trees, boards, planks, lumber or any other character of debris or imflammable material whatsoever out-of- doors outside of the fire limits and within the city unless the same is contained in a fireproof container with a top that prevents the escape of sparks or cinders. (cl) It shall be unlawful for any person or firm to burn any trash, rubbish, garbage, or animal matter in such a manner as to create a foul and offensive odor of such extent to be detected on any adjoining property. (e) Not withstanding the prohibition contained in paragraph (a) ,(b) , and (c) of this section, any acts permitted by the laws of the State of Texas and Fire Departr.lent training exercises are perr:iitted. (f) It shall be unlawful for any person ta install, erect or maintain any open flame torch on any nremises within the corporate limits of the City of Paris unless a permit is obtained for the in-- stallation or erection of sucn torch.
