<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> beginning installation or erection of any open flame <br /> torch in the city, an applicant must submit a written <br /> request to the office of the fire marshal and include <br /> a plot plan showing the location of torches and their <br /> proximity to building, vegetation and other combusti- <br /> bles, driveways, parking areas, streets and walkways. <br /> Cutaway drawings of the device and the method of in- <br /> stallation must also be submitted. All torch devices <br /> proposed to be installed must bear the seal of approval <br /> of tize American Gas Association or other nationally <br /> recognized safety testing laboratories. If, after due <br /> consideration of the above items, a permit is issued, <br /> tne installation must be made under the following <br /> conditions: <br /> (1) No combustibles, including shrubbery, shall <br /> be located within ten (10) feet of the open flame. <br /> (2) A regulated orifice shall be placed within <br /> the supply line of each torch of such size to prevent <br /> a flame of over eighteen (18) inches in height above <br /> the burner outlet when the valve is fully open. <br /> (3) Gas shall be delivered to the device at a <br /> pressure not greater than the pressure normally pro- <br /> vided for residential installations, <br /> (4) The height: of the bottom of the burner of <br /> the torch shall be at least eight (8) feet above the <br /> adjacent ground level. <br /> (5) Torches adjacent to streets, parking areas, <br /> driveways, or walkways shall be curbed or otherwise <br /> barricaded to prevent mechanical damage. <br /> <br /> (6) Torches shall not be located closer than ten <br /> (10) feet to any street parking area, driveways or <br /> walkways. <br /> (7) Torches shall not be installed closer than ten <br /> (10) feet to any building or combustible riaterial. <br /> <br /> (8) Installations shall be made in keeping with <br /> the regulations of the plumbing division of the City <br /> of Paris." <br /> Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions <br /> of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Class "C" Misdemeanor, <br /> and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed <br /> $200.00. <br /> Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in <br /> conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
