<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 2464 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PRO- <br /> VIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br /> TEXAS, BE AMEPIDED SY ADDING ARTICLE III TO CHAPTER 12, PRO- <br /> VIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE FIRE RESERVE UNIT AND <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF AUGUST 13, 1979. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF PARIS: <br /> <br /> Section l. That the Code of Ordinances of the City <br /> of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by adding Article III <br /> to Chapter 12, to read as follows: <br /> "ARTICLE III. FIRE RESERVE UNIT <br /> <br /> Sec. 12-100. Created. <br /> <br /> There is hereby created a Fire Reserve Unit <br /> under the conditions, rules and regulations set out <br /> in this article. <br /> Sec. 12-101. Purpose. <br /> <br /> The purpose of the Fire Reserve Unit shall <br /> be to assist and augment the regular fire depart- <br /> ment of the city. <br /> <br /> Sec. 12-102. Composition generally. <br /> The Fire Reserve Unit shall be composed of <br /> such number of inembers as is determined by the Fire <br /> Chief, subject to the right of the City Council to <br /> expand or decrease the membership or completely dis- <br /> band the unit. <br /> Sec. 12-103. Fire Chief to direct and sponsor. <br /> <br /> The Fire Chief shall be the director and <br /> sponsor of the Fire Reserve Unit. He shall aid in <br /> developing and establishing policies, directives, <br /> standard operating procedures, and programs of the <br /> unit. <br /> Sec. 12-104. Officers generally. <br /> <br /> The Fire Reserve Unit shall have a president <br /> appointed by the Fire Chief and approved by the City <br /> Council, and such other officers as the Fire Chief <br /> shall designate. <br /> Sec. 12-105. General duties of president. <br /> <br /> The president of the Fire Reserve Unit shall <br /> be directly responsible to the Chief of the Fire De- <br /> partment and shall carry out such policies, orders, <br /> and directives as are issued by or through the Fire <br /> Chief or his designated assistant. The president <br /> shall develop, with the advice of the Fire Chief, <br /> organizational policies, standard operating procedures, <br /> and training programs of the unit. He shall be responsi- <br /> ble for seeing that the overall program of the unit is <br /> properly adhered to and developing and maintainin.g con- <br /> tinued assignments, or instructions as directed or <br /> delegated by the Fire Chief. <br />
