ORDINANCE N0. 2474 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PRO- VIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY ADDING SECTIONS 2-52 THROUGH 2-66 TO ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 2, PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE RESERVE UNIT AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER 12, 1979. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended by adding Sections 2-52 through 2-66 to Article IV of Chapter 2, to read as follows: "ARTICLE IV. EMS RESERVE UNIT Sec. 2-52. Created. There is hereby created an EMS Reserve Unit under the conditions, rules and regulations set out in this article. Sec. 2-53. Purpose. The purpose of the EMS Reserve Unit shall be to assist and augment the regular EMS department of the City. Sec. 2-54. Composition generally. The EMS Reserve Unit shall be composed of such number of inembers as is determined by the Director, subject to the right of the City Council to expand or decrease the membership or completely disband the unit. Sec. 2-55. Director to direct and sponsor. The Director shall direct and sponsor the Unit. He shall aid in developing and establishing policies, directives, standard operating procedures, and programs of the unit. Sec. 2-56. Officers generally. The EMS Reserve Unit shall have a Supervisor appointed by the Director and approved by the City Council, and such other officers as the Director shall designate. Sec. 2-57. General duties of Supervisor. The Supervisor of the EMS Reserve Unit shall be directly responsible to the Director of the EMS De- partment and shall carry out such policies, orders, and directives as are issued by or through the EMS Director or his designated assistant. The Superintendent shall develop, with the advice of the Director, organizational policies, standard operating procedures, and training programs of the unit. He shall be responsible for seeing that the overall program of the unit is properly adhered to and developing and maintaining continued assignments, or instructions as directed or delegated by the Director.
