ENGINEERING SERVICES PROPOSED <br />Engineering services that we believe would be required for TWDB funded projects are included <br />below: <br />1. Design Surveys - The Engineer will provide design field surveys. This item includes all <br />land surveying necessary to prepare plans and specifications, including topo and profiles, <br />contour map, existing flow lines, etc. Boundary type surveys for easements or sites are <br />not included. <br />2. Basic Engineerinp, Services - Basic engineering services include preparation of design, <br />drawings, and specifications suitable for competitive bidding, assistance in obtaining <br />bids, and general engineering review of the construction contractor's progress and quality <br />of work during the construction process. General construction review entails the engineer <br />making periodic trips to the job site, to observe the construction progress and a prefinal <br />and final inspection. <br />Basic engineering services also includes assistance in the bid and award process, i.e., <br />publishing advertisement for bids, soliciting bids from potential contractors, assistance at <br />bid opening, bid tabulation and bid bond checks, review of low bidder's qualifications, <br />and recommendation for award of project, and recommendation for payment of <br />construction contractor payment requests, as necessary. <br />3. Record Drawings and Warranty Review - The Engineer will provide revised drawings <br />after construction, showing changes reported by the contractor, and assistance, as needed, <br />to obtain warranty service during the warranty review period. <br />4. Geotechnical/Construction Testing and Crossing Permits - Engineer will arrange for any <br />necessary geotechnical or construction materials testing, and review results thereof. <br />Engineer will prepare any necessary applications for crossing permits, and submit same <br />to the appropriate regulatory agencies. <br />On-Site Observation - The Engineer can provide an on-site observer, who will provide <br />more frequent site reviews of construction progress than allowed for under (2) above, if <br />this service is required by the City. <br />
