City Council Meeting <br />April 9, 2001 <br />Page 3 <br />approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2001-039, approving the form of the Amendment to the <br />existing Option Agreement the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and Mike Lane, <br />Assigned to Southern Drag Boat Associati on, Inc.; amending the terms <br />therein to permit the use of Lake Crook Park on the second full weekend <br />t h <br />in July as opposed to the 4 of July weekend; and a uthorizing and <br />directing the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the <br />City of Paris, the Amendment t o existing Option Agreement, was <br />presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Mayor <br />Pro Tem Manning, for approval of the resolutio n. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Pfiester declared the public hearing open regarding adoption of an <br />ordinance adopting Article III to Chapter 21 of the Code of Ordinances of <br />the City of Paris entitled “Curfew Ordinance for Children.” <br />M ayor Pfiester called for anyone who wished to speak in favor of the <br />ordinance to come forward. <br />Sargent Clay Owens, representing the Paris Police Departme nt, came <br />forward speaking in favor of the ordinance. Sargent Owens said this is <br />one tool they wanted to start using for truancy in the daytime and felt that <br />it would help in keeping our juveniles safe as well as keeping criminal <br />gang activity down. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for opponents to app ear, none appeared and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001-021 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, ADOPTING ARTICLE III TO CHAPTER 21 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORD INANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, ENTITLED “CURFEW <br />ORDINANCES FOR CHILDREN”; MAKING OT HER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES <br />OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, WAS PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, seconded by Councilman <br />
