Resolution No. 2001-039, approving the form of the Amendment to the existing Option Agreement the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and Mike Lane, Assigned to Southern Drag Boat Associati on, Inc.; amending the terms therein to permit the use of Lake Crook Park on the second full weekend t h in July as opposed to the 4 of July weekend; and a uthorizing and directing the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Amendment t o existing Option Agreement, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, for approval of the resolutio n. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Pfiester declared the public hearing open regarding adoption of an ordinance adopting Article III to Chapter 21 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris entitled “Curfew Ordinance for Children.” M ayor Pfiester called for anyone who wished to speak in favor of the ordinance to come forward. Sargent Clay Owens, representing the Paris Police Departme nt, came forward speaking in favor of the ordinance. Sargent Owens said this is one tool they wanted to start using for truancy in the daytime and felt that it would help in keeping our juveniles safe as well as keeping criminal gang activity down. Mayor Pfiester called for opponents to app ear, none appeared and the public hearing was declared closed.
