ORDINANCE NO. 2357 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES <br />LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VAR- <br />IOUS OWNERS, AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />FINDING THE MATERIALS RF'MAINING IN THE PREMISES TO <br />CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE <br />AND PROPERTY AND A HAZARD TO THE LIFE AND WELFARE <br />OF THE INHABITANTS OF TF-IE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID <br />RUBBISH, LUMBER AND RETUSE FROM THE STRUCTURES TO BE <br />TORN DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES, IN ORDER TO <br />ABATE SUCH NUISANCE. <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing was called to order by the Mayor <br />of the City of Paris, James M. Brunette, on the lOth day of October, <br />1977, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. , in the Council Room, City Hall, in the <br />City of Paris, Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard <br />Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the resolution <br />referred to the Committee by the City Council on June 13, 1977, <br />and said Committee fixed said hearing at 10:00 o'clock A. M. , on <br />the 26th day of August, 1977, and the hearing was had thereon. <br />That proper notice was given to the owner or owners of the struc- <br />tures located at the following addresses: <br />528 5th Street, S. E. , Lot 11, City Block 142 <br />353 Graham Street, Lot 3, City Block 43 <br />833 3rd Street, N. W. , Lot 11, City Block 96 <br />770 West Henderson Street, Lot 9, Block l, Jones Addition <br />780 West Henderson Street, Lot 11, City Block 100C <br />1434 Plum Street, Lot 4, Block 1, P. W. Harrison's 9th Addition <br />1600 West Long Street, Lot 4, Block 2, Maxey Addition <br />640 lst Street, N. E. , Lat 8A, City Block 92 <br />753 2nd Street, N. E. , Lot 14, City Block 92 <br />201 East Booth Street, Lot 7, City Block 73 <br />528 Pine Bluff Street, Lot 2, City Block 36 <br />620 East Grove Street, Lot 14, City Block 72A <br />711, 725, 739 and 741 6th Street, N. E. , Lot 12, City Block 72 <br />Thax at said hearing the Committee listed the structures involved <br />and introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures <br />and various portions of the premises involved and a list of dis - <br />crepancies in the structures located thereon. That the Committee <br />found that each of the above structures were in such state of de- <br />terioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to <br />life and propert_y and that each of said buildings was dilapidated <br />and was dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures <br />to life and property. That said buildings are in such a state of <br />dilapidation and decay that none of said structures are capable of <br />repair. It is further found tliat the condition of the premises and <br />structures involved were such that the Committee recommended <br />to the City Council that they be declared a nuisance and that the <br />owners thereof be ordered by the City Council to tear down and <br />remove the same from the lots involved. That said Committee <br />filed a complete report of its hearing and its findings with the <br />City Clerk of the City of Paris on the lOth day of October, 1977. <br />
