Planning and Zoning Meeting
May 7, 2001
Page 3

Vincent Baffles asked if he was interested in replatting both lots into
one. Mr. Gibson answered, "No".

Tammy Green, 300 NE Loop 286, spoke in favor of placing mobile
homes on the property stating that there are other homes in the area
and there is already a group interested in moving into mobile homes
in the area.

Ken Kohls opposed the petition stating that he owns mobile homes
in the 800 Block of 5th SE and he thought mobile homes should be in
mobile home parks. He would like to see the area remain single
family and not spot zoned.

Mr. Gibson presented pictures of lots in the area that had numerous
code violations and he thought that the lots could be cleaned up with
mobile homes allowed in the area.

There was no further opposition, the public hearing was declared
closed.

10.

Consideration of and action on the petition of Calvin Gibson for a
change in zoning from a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F), to a One-
Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF-3) With Specific Use Permit (39)
Mobile Homes, Lots 19 and 20, City Block 160, being numbers t050
and 1106 5t' SE.

Motion was made to table by Vincent Battles and seconded by Eddie
Vincent. Planning and Zoning Commission asked Steve Methven to
confer with City Attorney, Larry Schenk regarding setting standards
for mobile homes. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 1 nay.
Consideration of and action on the recommendation of the Final Plat,
Lots I and 2, Block A and Lots 1,2,3,4,5, 6, Block B, and Lot 1, Block
C, Amherst Estates.

Motion was made to approve by Curtis Fendley and seconded by
Eddie Vincent, subject to the Interim City Engineer's Memo dated
May 7, 2001.
