Regular City Council Meeting <br />April 5, 2001 <br />Page 5 <br />look at their current drainage problems, they would understand why there is <br />opposition to this rezoning. <br />No one else appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. <br />Mayor Pfiester call ed for consideration of and action on an ordinance <br />amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, changing the zoning from a One- <br />Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF-2) to a Multiple-Family Dwelling District No. <br />1 (MF-1) on Lot 7, City Block 266. A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, to deny the rezoning change. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Pfiester declared the publi c hearing open on the petition of Donald <br />Lewis for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Commercial <br />District (C) on Lots 6 & 7, City Block 322, being located in the 2000 Block of <br />Spur 139. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for proponents to appear, and Donald Lewis, Route 10 <br />Box 7410, appeared in behalf of his petition. Mr. Lewis explained that this <br />property that has been sold to Mark Buster for the Paris Farm Center along <br />with another piece of land t hat he owns. Mr. Lewis stated that he is <br />requesting the Commercial zoning for this property as it fronts on the Spur <br />and the Loop and feels it is the logical use for the property and expressed his <br />appreciation for the Council’s consideration. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001-016 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY <br />THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT <br />(C) ON LOTS 6 AND 7, CITY BLOCK 322, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO <br />DONALD LEWIS, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY <br />DESIGNATED AS A AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A); DESIGNATING THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED; <br />PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL <br />
