4. ROOF LIVE LOADS-Loads that are produced (1) during maintenance <br />by workers, equipment, and materials, and (2) during the life of <br />the structure by movable objects, but do not include wind, snow, <br />seismic or dead loads. <br />5. ROOF SNOW LOADS-The vertical load induced by the weight of <br />snow, assumed to act on the horizontal projection on the roof of <br />the structure. <br />6. WIND LOADS-The loads caused by the wind from any horizontal <br />direction. <br />7. AUXILIARY LOADS-Dynamic live loads such as those induced by <br />cranes and material handling systems. <br />8. COLLATERAL LOADS-The weight of additional permanent materials <br />other than the building system, such as: sprinklers, mechanical <br />systems, electrical systems, partitions, and ceilings. <br />9. SEISMIC LOADS-The lateral load acting in any horizontal <br />direction on a structural system due to the action of an <br />earthquake. <br />10. FLOOR LIVE LOADS-Those loads induced on the floor system by the <br />use and occupancy of the building. <br />1.5.4 FOUNDATION REACTIONS <br />FOUNDATION REACTIONS shall be furnished by the manufacturer, <br />but shall not be responsible for the design of, or the adequacy of <br />the foundation. <br />1.5.5 MANUFACTURING <br />1. STRUCTURAL MEMBERS shall normally be fabricated by shearing, <br />flame cutting, forming, welding, punching, drilling, reaming, <br />etc., as required in accordance with standard practices. <br />a. WELDED PLATE MEMBERS fabricated from plat or bar <br />stock materials shall have flanges and webs joined on one <br />side of the web by a submerged arc continuous weld <br />process. <br />2. SHOP CONNECTIONS for builtup and/or hot-rolled members shall <br />normally be welded using either a submerged or gas metal arc weld <br />process. Welding shall be in accordance with standard practices in <br />compliance with the applicable sections, relating to design <br />requirements and allowable stresses of the latest edition of the <br />"AWS Structural Welding Code D1.1.". <br />75 <br />
