DRAFT <br />LISA\RESOLUTIONS\CiJRRENT\Sports Complex Grant Res <br />July 5, 2001 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING <br />RESPONSIBLE FOR AND ACTING FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />IN DEALING WITH THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN THE TEXAS RECREATION <br />AND PARKS ACCOUNT (TRPA) GRANT PROGRAM; CERTIFYING THE <br />CITY IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE PROGRAM ASSISTANCE; CERTIFYING <br />THE CITY' S MATCHING SHARE IS READILY AVAII,ABLE; ACCEPTING <br />SAID GRANT AWARD UPON NOTICE THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR <br />ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE THEREOF; <br />DEDICATING THE PROPOSED SITE FOR PERMANENT PUBLIC PARK <br />AND RECREATIONAL USES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECT DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Texas Recreation and Parks Account <br />(TRPA) Grant Program, hereinafter called Program (Section 24 of the Parks & Wildlife Code), for the <br />purpose of allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the Program; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is fully eligible to receive assistance under said <br />Program, and the City Council is desirous of processing a grant application with the Texas Parks and <br />Wildlife Department for the Paris Sports Complex Project in the amount of $500,000.00, with <br />$500,000.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of cash; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section L That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br />Section 2. That an application be made to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for a Texas <br />Recreation and Parks Account (TRPA) Grant in the amount of $500,000.00, with $500,000.00 to be <br />provided by the City of Paris in the form of cash. <br />Section 3. That the City of Paris hereby certifies it is eligible to receive assistance under the <br />Texas Recreation and Parks Account (TRPA) Program. <br />Section 4. That the City of Paris hereby certifies the matching share for this application is readily <br />
