Phase II - Scope of Work - Lead Paint Abatement Irerracon <br />Grand Theatre ■ 21 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas <br />June 4, 2012 ■ Terracon Project No. 94107645 <br />3.5 Disposal <br />This section describes the disposal of lead containing or lead contaminated components <br />and/or waste materials. Disposal includes packaging of all non-metal waste materials <br />and shall be accomplished by land filling or incineration as appropriate. Approval by <br />OWNER is required prior to all recycling or disposal activities. <br />Testing of waste will be performed to determine disposal requirements. The testing shall <br />be conducted by the Owner's Representative. The Owner's Representative shall verify <br />that all the waster has been properly segregated, containerized, and classified in the <br />following categories: <br />Place all waste generated during the project in a DOT approved drum lined with a 6 mil. <br />disposal bag in an enclosed dumpster, truck or designated secure storage area. <br />Separate waste materials into the following categories and label all disposal drums. <br />a. Non-Hazardous Solid Waste: <br />• After thorough cleaning, plastic sheeting and duct tape used during <br />abatement. <br />b. Hazardous Solid Waste: <br />• Paint chips <br />• Rags, sponges, mops, HEPA vacuum filters and contents, respirator <br />cartridges, protective clothing, shower water filter(s) and other <br />materials used during abatement. <br />• Wood Components if applicable <br />c. Hazardous Liquid Waste (as determined by testing) <br />• Waste water <br />All waste shall be handled and disposed of according to local, city, state, and federal <br />regulations. All waste assumed to be hazardous shall be transported off-site to the <br />approved disposal site by CONTRACTOR. <br />Disposal of Non-Hazardous Solid Waste (as categorized by Owner's <br />Representative) <br />Materials are to remain in 6 mil disposal bags or wrapped in polyethylene sheeting. <br />Transport waste in enclosed trucks or dumpsters. <br />Disposal of Non-Hazardous Liquid Waste(as categorized by Owner's <br />Representative) <br />Responsive ■ Resourceful■ Reliable 9 <br />
