ORDINANCE NO. 1816 • <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUND- <br />ARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS,F TEXASs AND THE ANNEXATION OF <br />CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF LESS THAN TEN PER CENT (10%) OF <br />ITS PRESENT CITY LIMITS, LIMT S OF THE C TIYJOF PARISO <br />AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT <br />T EXAS, <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Gouncil of the City of Paris, <br />Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be <br />heard on the proposed annexation of the foLlowing described territory: <br />Situated in the County of Lamar and State of Texas, and <br />located South and East from the present City Limit Lines <br />of the City of Paris, and described as follows: <br />Beginning at the present most 5outh Eastern Limits <br />of the City of Paris„ at a point which is located in the West <br />Line of what would be an extension of 6th 5treet, S. E. ; <br />Thence East and parallel to the proposed Loop Highway <br />286, at a distance of 600 feet fromthe center line of the <br />outer loop of said highway; <br />Thence in an Eastern and Northerly direction to the <br />W. B. Line of F. M. Highway 1507; <br />Thence North with the W. B. Line of F. M. Highway <br />1507 to the South edge of the outer loop of proposed Loop <br />Highway 286 South East; <br />Thence in a Northerly and Easterly direction with the <br />S. B. Line of said outer loop of said highway to a point 600 <br />feet East of the E. B. Line of F. M. Highway 905 to a point; <br />Thence North and in an Easterly direction to a point <br />600 feet North East of the center line of U.S. Highway 271; <br />Thence North and W est and parallel with U. S. Highway <br />271 to the present E. B. Line of the Eastern City Limits of <br />the City of Paris. <br />was held at Paris, Texas, on the 3rd day of February, A. D. i 1967, which date <br />is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexa- <br />tion proceedings; and, <br />WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper <br />having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas= and in the above described <br />territory, on the 20th day of January9 A. D., 1967, which date is not more than <br />twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and, <br />WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Texas, is in excess of <br />5, 000 and less than 259 000 inhabitants; andp <br />WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial <br />jurisdiction of the City of Paris,, Texas; and, <br />
