Section 4. Hereafter, if any person, firm or corporation shall fail to pay
<br />the bill of the City of Paris for water service or for sewer service rendered to
<br />such person, firm or corporation, on or before the expiration of ten (10) days
<br />after the date from which such bill is due and payable, the water service of such
<br />person, firm or corporation shall be discontinued, and such service shall not
<br />again be resumed until such person, firm or corporation shall have paid such de-
<br />linquent water or sewer bill in full, together with thereconnection fee of $1.00.
<br />Section 5. That Ordinance No. 1248 be, and the same is hereby amended
<br />as follows:
<br />1. That Section 5 of Ordinance Number 1151-A heretofore passed by the
<br />City Council of the City of Paris on February 22, 1947, entitled "An ordinance to
<br />amend an ordinance entitled £An ordinance prohibiting, within certain territory,
<br />the use of privies, cesspools, closets or other equipment or things used for the
<br />disposal of sewage matter when not connected with the sanitary sewerage system
<br />of the City of Paris, and requiring the same to be removed or abated; requiring
<br />property owners to connect such privies, cesspools, closets, or other equipment
<br />or things used for the disposal of sewage matter with the said sewerage system;
<br />fixing charges for sewerage service; and fixing penalties for violation of this
<br />ordinance; and declaring an emergency,' 'being Ordinance No. 1151 of the City of
<br />Paris, passed by the City Council of the City of Paris on the 13th day of January,
<br />1947" be and the same is hereby changed and amended so that Section 5 of said
<br />Ordinance Number 1151-A sha11 hereafter read and be as follows:
<br />"Section 5. It is hereby determined and declared to be necessary for the
<br />City of Paris, Texas, to levy and collect charges from all persons, firms and
<br />corporations that are using the sanitary sewer system and lines of the City for
<br />the purpose of improving, extending, maintaining and operating,, constructing, re-
<br />constructing and adding to the sanitary sewer system, including treatment plants,
<br />and the water system of the Gity of Paris. "
<br />Section 6. Sewerage rates for users furnished by the City of Paris are
<br />hereby fixed at the following rates per cubic foot per manth for both domestic
<br />and commercial users, based on the water used by said user as registered by the
<br />user'°s water metero

<br />That the above rates shall be and become effective with Cycle 3 billing on
<br />Novemlaer l, 1965, which billing date for said cycle is December 1, 1965, as
<br />fixed by Ordinance No. 1363, and shall be due ten (10) days from ~he billing date
<br />of each cycle, thereafter.
<br />The sewerage charge on all single family residences shall not exceed
<br />$5. 00 per month, regardless of inetered water consumption.
