ENACTiNG CLAUSE. That Ordinance No. 1274, the Electrical <br />Ordinance, passed by the City Council on November 102 1952, together wi.th alI <br />amendmants thereto, are hereby amended in their entirety to read as follows: <br />Section 2. TITLF, The Title of this ordinance shall be "The Paris <br />E.lect'rical Ordinance"* and may be cited as such9 and it will be referred to in <br />this ordinance as "this Code. " <br />Section 3. PJRPO?.iE, The purpose of this code is the practical safeguard- <br />ing of persons and of buildings and their contentss from electrical hazards arising <br />from the use of electricity for light, heat, powers radio, signaling and for other <br />purposes. <br />Section 4. SCOPE. The provisions of this ordinance shall apply to all in- <br />stallations of and work done on electrical conductors, fittings9 devices, motors, <br />appliances, fixtures, signs and gaseous tubing, hereinafter referred to as <br />"Electrical Equipment", within or on public and private buildings and premises, <br />with exceptions as provided herein. <br />On all installations of electrical conductors or equipment hereafter made <br />and all existing installations wh.ich are altered9 all work shall be done in a manner <br />that will conform wi_th the requirements for a sufficient and safe electrical system. <br />Repair and maintenance work shall be such that if any electrical conductors or <br />equipment are removed and later replaced, they shall be replaced in a manner <br />which conforms with this code, <br />5ection 5, NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE r.~EGULATIONS ADOPTED. <br />The Regulations laid down in the National Electrical Code as approved by the <br />American Standards Association, for the installation of electrical wiring, de- <br />vices and equipment, together with all subsequent amendments thereto, are <br />hereby adopted as the minimum standard for the installation of all electrical <br />wiring, devices and equipment of the City of Paris, Texas, except as otherwise <br />specifically provided in this ordinance, and the same is hereby made a part of <br />
