this Ordinance as fully and to the same extent as if copied herein in full, provided <br />that the present or current issue of said National Electrical Code and any subse- <br />quent amendments thereto shall be considered as the "NATIONAL ELECTRICAL <br />CODE" as that term is used herein, and provided further, that in event of any <br />conflict between the provisions of this Ordinance and said National Electrical Code, <br />then in such event the provisions of this Ordinance shall govern. <br />That the 1965 National Eiectrical Code, governing installations and wiring of <br />electric installations, together with all subsequent amendments thereto, are here- <br />by adopted by the City of Paris, Texas, with the following limitations and excep- <br />tio ns: <br />(a) That no person, firm or corporation shall hereafter install for resi- <br />dential purposes any service entrance conductors with the service entrance con- <br />ductor smaller than #6 wire. <br />(b) That no person9 firm or corporation shall install within the City of <br />Paris, Texas, any electric wiring of a smaller size wire than #12; provided <br />however that switch legs or control wires may be wi_red with #14 wire. <br />_(c) That no person, firm or corporation shall hereafter wire any electric <br />range table tops with less than 3#10 wire. And no person, firm or corporation <br />shall hereafter wire any built in oven with 30 amp breaker, wi.th less than 3#10 <br />wir e. <br />(d) That no person, firm or corporation shall hereafter install any elec- <br />trical wiring on the outside surface of any building within the corporate limits of <br />the City of Paris, including a private residence, without placing said wiring in an <br />approved and properly grounded conduit. <br />(e) Th.at no person9 firm or corporation sha1X install any electrical installa- <br />tions having more than two two-wire circuits without supplying the same with a <br />three wire service. <br />(f) That no person9 firm or corporation shall hereafter instal.l any service <br />heads at a location having not more than two feet from the service drops, and not <br />less than three feet from any door, window, or other opening in the buildinga un- <br />less specifically approved by the Electrical Inspector. <br />(g) That no persons firm or corporation shall install any service entrance <br />switches or any service equipment within a bathroom, toilet, closet or cabinet. <br />(h) That no person, firm or corporation shall install any service heads for <br />residential purposes within less than ten feet or more than twenty feet above the <br />ground, and samP shall be so situated that they shall not be within reach from any <br />porch or stair landings, and all service head installations3 wliere practical, sha11 <br />afford direct unobstructed space for stringing service drops without the necessity <br />for such drops passing over the property of others than the ow7ier of the property <br />being serve3. <br />(i) That no person, firm or corporation shall leave any unused electrical <br />equipment w:thin or upon public or private buildings or premises, if, in the <br />opinion of the E'Lectrical Inspector, the same constitutes a hazard or danger to <br />life or property, including unused electric range installations and unused con- <br />tractor meter loops. <br />0) No person, firm or corporation shall install the following electrical ' <br />equipment, without having applied for and received a permit from ':he Office of <br />the Department of Public Works of the City of Paris, to -wit: <br />(l) A window unit air conditioner of the size of 1/2, 3%4 <br />or 1 Horse P-awer motors, or installation of motors <br />in excess of the above. <br />
