Any member of the Board may be removed for cause by the City Council upon re- <br />commendation of such removal for a cause by the City Manager, or may be re- <br />moved by said Council without such recommendation if it finds that the removal <br />of a member or members is for the best interests of the public. <br />Upon the failure of any member of said Board to qualify as a mE+mber <br />thereof, or in the event of a vacancy in such Board for any cause, the City <br />Council shall iminediately appoint a qualified person to fill the unexpired term <br />for any such vacancy. <br />The Electrical Board shall select a Chairman and Secretary and shall pre- <br />scribe a procedure and order of business for hearing applications by persons de- <br />siring licenses as Electrical Contractors, or Registration Certificates as <br />Journeymen Electricians, and for hearing appeals from the decisions of the <br />Electric al Insp ecto r. <br />Three members of the Board present at any meeting shall constitute a <br />quorum for the transaction of business. <br />It shall be the duty of the Eiectrical Board to fix, at reasonable intervals <br />of time, the date of examination for applicants for certificates of registration <br />and licenses, and the Board shall make reasonable rules relating to the method <br />of requiring examinations and re-examinations by such applicants. <br />It shall be the duty of the Board to pass upon the qualifications of all per- <br />sons, firms, or corporations, applying for certificates to do electrical work as <br />defined in this ordinance in the City of Paris. There shall be issued certificates <br />to such persons, firms, or corporations, as shall pass a satisfactory examina- <br />tion as herein referred to, but this c:ertificate shall not authorize any one to enter <br />into a contract for or do any installation, maintenance or repair of any electrical <br />work unless such person shall, have paid his annual registration fee as required <br />by this Code. <br />Any person9 firm or corporation may file an appeal with the Electrical <br />Board for a review of any decision of the Electrical Inspector, provided that such <br />appeal is made in writing within five (5) days after such person9 firm or corpora- <br />tion shall have been notified of such decision by the Electrical Inspector. Such <br />appeal shall be taken by the filing of written notice thereof with the Director of <br />Public Works, upon receipt of which the Director of Public Works shall imme- <br />diately call and arrange for a meeting of said Board, and said Board shall pro- <br />ceed to determine wl.iether or not the action of the Eiectrical Inspector complies <br />with this ordinance and within seven (7) days shall make a decision in accordance <br />with its findings, which decision shall be final. <br />The Electrical Board shall keep a Minute Book in which shall be recorded <br />all transactions and business of the Board. The Minute Book and other records <br />shall be kept in a manner designated by the Secretary. <br />Section 24. The Texas Powzr and Light Company, its agents or employees, <br />shall make all connections from the power lines to the electric service installa- <br />tions. It shall be unlawf_ul for any other person or persons to do so. <br />Section 25. All circuses, carnivals and road shows using portable equip- <br />mPnt shall employ a licensed electrical contractor to supervise all electrical in- <br />stallations. <br />Section 26. It shal], be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to <br />sell, expose for sale, offer to sell, dispose as a premium or offer for rent and <br />repair, any electrical material, conductors, equipment, apparatus or appliance <br />within the City of Paris which is not approved by the Electrical Inspector, or <br />bearing the Underwriters seal of approval. <br />Section 27. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to use slugs, <br />pennies or any method of abridgment of fuses, fuse blocks or in any way defeat <br />the purpose of a fuse or circuit breaker. <br />
