ORDINANCE NO. 17_ 87 • AN ORDINANCE PROViDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIM:TS OF THE CITY OF PARIS* TEXAS, AND THE.ANNEXA- TIO'V OF CERTAIN TERRITORYT ~~R T~RY L ES A TA xE~'T TO AND.26 ACRES OF LAND, W riICH SA D ADJOIN5 THF PRESENT Bt'JUNDARY LIMiTS OF THE CITY OF PARIS,, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Gouncil of the City of Paris, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: Situated in the County of Lamar and State of Texas, and being a part of the I. Gruise Survey, and being located on the East Side of the Gordon Country Club Road and North of the Old Bonham Road, and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the E. B. Line of the Gordon Lake Road, which point is approximately 1140 feet South of the South Boundary Line of U. S. Highway 82 West, said point being the Southern inter- section of the present City Lim:.t Li.ne with the E. B. Line of the Gordon Lake Road; Thence South with the E. B. Line of the Gordon Lake Road, approximately 1972 feet to the intersection oi the E. B. Line of the Gordon Lake Road and the N. B. Line of the Old Bonham Road; Thence East with the North Boundary Line of the Old Bonham Road approximately 690 feet to the present City Li.mit Line. was held at Paris, Texas, on the 27th day of June, A. D,, 1966, Which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexa- tion proceedings; and, WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas, and in the above de- scribed territoryy, on the 16th day of June, A. D, y 1966, which date is not more than twenty nor ].ess than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; andp WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Texasp is in excess of 5, 000 and less than 25, 000 inhabitants; and9 WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Texas; ands W HERE.AS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory contains approximately 22. 26 acres; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory contains less than ten per cent (10%) of the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas; NOW, THE~--tEr ORE..
