Section 55. All connections of lead pipe to cast iron pipes and fittings <br />shall be made with extra heavy brass ferrules calked to cast iron pipe and <br />wiped to lead pipe or combination iron to lead ferrules. <br />Section 56. All plumbing fixtures shall be installed as open plumbing. <br />Section 57. 5ectional wash trays may be trapped and vented as <br />follows: The waste pipe from one to three compartments of sectional wash <br />trays may connect with one four-inch lead drum trap, trap to be revented. <br />Additional compartments may be connected in the same manner. <br />Section 58, Steam boiler blow-off, pump exhausts and bleeda from <br />engine heaters and tanks shall empty into cast-iron, brick, or concrete <br />blow-off tank and vent pipe shall be carried through roof, from said tank, <br />to carry off steam and vapor, the tank to have water seal trap and drain <br />pipe to discharge into a catch basin. <br />Section 59, Pan, long hopper, plunger, or other closets having a <br />direct supply, or closets not having walls flushed with each discha.rge of <br />the tank, must be replaced with uiater closets as called for in this ordi- <br />nance. Bell traps shall not be used except when they connect with a catch <br />basin, unless same is provided with a gate or back water valve and vented <br />and trapped. <br />PROHIBITED CONNEC TIONS: <br />Section 60. (a) No fixture, device or construction shall be installed <br />which will provide a back flow connection between a distribution system of <br />water for drinking and domestic purposes and a drainage system, soil, or <br />waste pipe so as to permit or make possible the backflow of sewage or <br />waste into the water supply system. <br />(b) No inter-connection or cross-connection shall be made between a <br />water supply system carrying water meeting accepted standards of purity <br />and any other water supply system. <br />Section 61. That on or after the passing of this ordinance it shall be <br />unlawful to dispose of any: human excr:ete within the corporate limits of the <br />City of Paris, Texa.s and outside the sanitary district, except in a sanitary <br />water flush closet or a chemical toilet or concrete vault or an approved <br />sanitary pit privy built according to the specifications of the Stat e <br />Department of Health, 5uch toilets or privies shall be kept in a clean <br />condition at all time s. <br />Section 62. All privies existing or maintained within the corporate <br />limits of the City of Paris9 Texas, after this ordinance becomes effective <br />which do not conform to the requirements of this ordinance shall be, and <br />are hereby declared a nuisance, and a menace to public health, and the <br />City of Paris, Texas shall have the power and authority to abate such <br />nuisance in accordance with the law, or in accordance v+ith the ordinancea <br />of said City of Paris, Texas. <br />Section 63o It shall be the duty of the health officer having jurisdic- <br />tion, or his duly authorized assistant to enter all premises as may be <br />necessary in the enforcement of this ordina.nce and he is hereby so em- <br />powered. <br />Section 64. That any person, firm, association or corporation who <br />shall fail to comply with, or shall violate any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction <br />thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding Two Hundred ($200. 00) <br />
