Section 45o Livery stablea, barns, garages, and carriage repositories <br />shall drain into sand traps. Sand traps are to be considered fixtures, and <br />same must be made of brick or concrete with iron covery and made water <br />tight and have a water seal of at least ten inches in depth. Sand traps must <br />be cleaned out before silt reaches within six (6) inches of outlet. All ea.nd <br />traps shall conform with specifications which will be furnished on request by <br />the City Engineer, Standard construction for sand traps, as ahown by speci- <br />fication and drawi.ng dated April 19, 1958, is on file with the Director of <br />Public Works of the City of Paris, which drawing is by reference made a <br />part hereof. <br />Section 46. Soda fountain traps may be connected with a catch basin <br />placed in floor close to fountain, or each tray may be connected in the same <br />manner as kitchen sinks. A two-inch waste pipe to catch basin for fountain <br />will suffice with one and one-half inch revent pipeo Enameled iron sink set <br />above floor or large size grease trap with proper openings left in same <br />for waste pipes, where conditions are such that catch basins cannot be <br />built of brick or concrete. <br />Section 47. All public urinals shall have an automatic flush tank to <br />supply same or perforated brass pipe, and the floor under urinals sha,ll <br />be of non-absorbent material. Flush pipe shall be at least one inch in <br />diameter. <br />Section 48, Waste pipes from refrigerators or other receptacles <br />shall drip into refrigerator drains, which shall be trapped and vented, and <br />connected to sewer as required for other fixtures. Traps, waste, and <br />vents shall be as required for kitchen einks, <br />5ection 49. All lead bends and lead traps shall be of drawn lead and <br />of not less than four pounds to the square foot. <br />Section 50. All traps not herein provided for must ha.ve a water seal <br />of not less than two inches in depth, and must be set true to water eeal. <br />Section 51. Drum traps not less than four by eight inches may be <br />used on wash trays, bath tubs, sinks, foot tubs, with brass trap screw not <br />less tha.n four inches, and shall be accessible. <br />Section 52. All drum traps must be of drawn lead or brass, not less <br />than four inches in diameter and with trap screws at least four inches in <br />diameter and trap must be so constructed as to provide a water seal of at <br />least two and one-half inches in depth. The outlet frorn all drum traps <br />must be connected to the trap at least one and one-half inches below the <br />water line and extend upward at an angle of at least 40 degrees to proper <br />height, and shall continue with a uniform fall to soil or waste pipe. Traps <br />may be revented and installed in the customary manner provided same ha,s <br />the tap screw on the bottom. <br />Section 53. All solder joints between brass and lead, copper and lead, <br />or lead and lead, must be plumberss wiped joints, and the same must be <br />constructed in a first class, workmanlike ma.nner. No cup or overcast <br />joints, either with soldering iron or cloth, shall be used, except on the <br />fixture side of traps, solder joints will be allowed. <br />Section 54. All joints in cast-iron pipes and fittings and connections <br />to cast-iron, and between brass and cast-iron, shall be made with picked <br />oakum and molten lead. Lead to be at least 1 inch in depth, well calked. <br />
