City Council Meeting May 14, 2001 Page 14 City Manager Malone recommended that this item be referred back to the Airport Advisory Board for additional recommendation as there has been a suggestion that the city can do another set of plans and specifications and be able to build ten hangars instead of seven with smaller doors. He said the new concept would accommodate 90% of the aircraft that use Cox Field. Mr. Wendell Moore came forward and discussed this matter with the City Council. He advised that it was his suggestion that ten hangars could be constructed instead of the seven, and gave an example of how this could be accomplished. After further discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, to table this item and refer it back to the Airport Advisory Board for their study and recommendation. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 2001-068, accepting and letting the bid of Richard Drake Construction Company for the Cox Field Airport Preparation of Site Work Around Seven (7) Unit Nested T-Hangar Project in the amount of $95,745.00, and authorizing and directing the Mayor to execute on behalf of the City of Paris said agreement, was presented. A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 2001-069, accepting the Grant for Routine Airport Maintenance Program, TxDot Project No. 1 AM2001PARIS, in the total amount of $120,000.00, with the City of Paris providing $5,000.00 in matching funds, and authorizing and directing the Mayor to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the said Grant Agreement, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Gray, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
