I► <br />Amok AIL <br />9 <br />Any electrical devices, signs, apparatus or appliances manufactured within <br />the Cit y shall be inspe cted by the Electrical Inspector before it is sold or <br />installedo <br />Sectzon 19. Electric Signs. All classes of electric signs whether of <br />the gas tube, sign re~tacle or reflector type, including gas tube window signs <br />and autside building outlining sYall be considered electric signs within the <br />meaning of <br />this ordinance. <br />:'ortabls <br />inside displays <br />or small <br />signs using self- <br />oontained <br />transformers with <br />currerit <br />consumption not <br />to exceed <br />200 watts ma.y be <br />connected by attachment plug to present circuit providing all other requirements <br />of this ordinance are complied with. <br />All signs must be on separate circuits in conduit fncn the distributing <br />panel and not more than 1320 watts will be allowed on each circuit. All signs <br />except portable signs must be grounded directlj- to the conduit service. <br />All signs must bear the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., inspection label <br />or sha.ll be inspected and approved by the Electrica.l Inspector before being <br />installed. <br />When an electric sign is to be hung over the si.dewalk there must be a <br />clears:nce of eight (8) feet from the siclewalk to the lowest point of the sign <br />and no sign shall exterxl to within two (2) feet of the curb line of sidewalk, <br />except by spe cial permis sion of the Ele ctrical Inspe ctor, <br />Section 19a. Tanporar:y Permits. Upon application therefor the Electrical <br />Inspector may, in his discretion, issue a temporary permit authorizing the con- <br />nection of service tc> any building or electrical installation for a period r,ot <br />to exceed ten (10) days in cases where the immediate connection of such service <br />i.s by him considered necessary, desirabls and reasonably safe, provided that it <br />appears that applicant for such temporary permit can and will qualify for a <br />regular permit under the provis ions of this ordinance wit hin a reasonahle <br />length of time. A fee of Two ($2.00) Dollars sYall be paid by the applicant for <br />any such temporary pemit and the same may be renewed from time to time for <br />periods not in excess of ten (10) days, at the discretion of said Electrical <br />Inspector~ a ~ , Y. s:~~. _ y <br />
