1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br /> A. Erector Qualifications: An experienced erector who has specialized in erecting and installing <br /> work similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project and who is accept- <br /> able to manufacturer. <br /> <br /> B. Professional Engineer Qualifications: A professional engineer who is legally qualified to prac- <br /> tice in jurisdiction where Project is located and who is experienced in providing engineering <br /> services of the kind indicated. Engineering services are defined as those performed for installa- <br /> tions of metal building systems that are similar to those indicated for this Project in material, <br /> design, and extent. <br /> <br /> C. Manufacturer Qualifications: A firm experienced in manufacturing metal building systems <br /> similar to those indicated for this Project and with a record of successful in-service perform- <br /> <br /> 1. Engineering Responsibility: Preparation of Shop Drawings, testing program develop- <br /> ment, test result interpretation, and comprehensive engineering analysis by a qualified <br /> professional engineer. <br /> <br /> D. Surveyor Qualifications: A land surveyor who is legally qualified to practice in jurisdiction <br /> where Project is located and who is experienced in providing surveying services of the kind in- <br /> dicated. <br /> <br /> E. Source Limitations: Obtain each type of metal building system component through one source <br /> from a single manufacturer. <br /> <br /> F. Product Options: Drawings indicate size, profiles, and dimensional requirements of metal <br /> building system and are based on the specific system indicated. Other manufacturers' systems <br /> with equal performance characteristics may be considered. Refer to Division 1 Section "Substi- <br /> tutions.'' <br /> 1. Do not modify intended aesthetic effects, as judged solely by Architect, except with Ar- <br /> chitect's approval. If modifications are proposed, submit comprehensive explanatory data <br /> to Architect for review. <br /> 2. Manufacturing system represented on drawings is Erect-A-Tube, Inc. <br /> <br /> G. Welding: Qualify procedures and personnel according to AWS DI.1, "Structural Welding <br /> Code--Steel"; and AWS D1.3, "Structural Welding Code--Sheet Steel." <br /> <br />1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br /> <br /> A. Deliver components, sheets, panels, and other manufactured items so as not to be damaged or <br /> deformed. Package roof and wall panels for protection during transportation and handling. <br /> <br /> B. Handling: Unload, store, and erect roof and wall panels to prevent bending, warping, twisting, <br /> and surface damage. <br /> <br /> C. Stack materials on platforms or pallets, covered with tarpaulins or other suitable weathertight <br /> and ventilated covering. Store roof and wall panels to ensure dryness.
