I. That Houston street is hereby ordered to be opened <br />through the property of the St. Louis Investment Company, forty <br />feet wide, and the street and public improvement committee is <br />hereby ordered to confer with the said owners or their agents and <br />if they cannot agree upon the amount of damages that said com- <br />mittee report that fact to the mayor and that he proceed under the <br />charter to have the property condemned and the damages assessed. <br />.Adopted Oct. 28, 1889' <br />Attest, <br />JOHN HARVEY, City Sec. <br /> <br />M. HATHAWAY, Mayor. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CHAPTER SIXTY-NINE. <br /> <br />BUTCHERS. <br /> <br />AN ORTHN ANCE regulating butchers and the sale of fresh meats and fish. <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the city council of the city of Paris: <br /> <br />SEC. I. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to <br /> <br />slaughter any animals within the corporate limits of the city of <br /> <br />Paris. <br /> <br />SEC. 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to sell at retail <br /> <br />in quantities of less than a quarter olan animal within the corpor- <br /> <br />ate limits of the city any fresh nfeats of any kind, without first pay- <br />ing to the city assessor and collector of taxes a tax of ten dollars <br /> <br />on each establishment or separate place of business per quarter, in <br /> <br />advance, whereupon the assessor and collector shall issue such per- <br /> <br />son a license, and no license shall issue for a less period ~han three <br /> <br />months.
