<br />74 <br /> <br />Recorder.- Fees and Salaries. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE: <br /> <br /> <br />RECORDER. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE creating the office of Recorder. <br /> <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the city council of the city of Paris: <br /> <br />SEC.!. That the city council of the city of Paris, Texas, <br />having, on the 28th of Sept., 1875, accepted the provision of title <br />17 of the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby <br />establish and'create the office of recorder of the city of Paris, and <br />the authority to appoint said city recorder is hereby granted and <br />delegated to the said city council of the city of Paris, Texas. <br />SEC. 2. The city recorder aforesaid, shall hold a court in <br />the city of Paris at such time and place as has been designated by <br />ordinance No. XXXI, section 16, of the Revised Ordinances of <br />the city of Paris, and he shall have in the trial of criminal cases, <br />concurrent jurisdictio.n within the corporate limits of the city of <br />Paris with tbe justice of the peace, and shall be governed in the <br />trial of criminal cases in said recorder's court by the laws govern- <br />ing similar cases in justice of.the peace's court. <br />SEC. 3. The recorder appointed as aforesaid, shall be en- <br />titled to and allowed the same fees of office as is allowed the jus- <br />tice of peace in similar cases, under and by virtue of the statutes <br />of the State of Texas; provided, that in no cases shall the recorder <br />be entitled to fees where the defendant has not the money to pay <br />the same. <br />SEC. 4.
