SPECIFICATIONS FOR FURNISHING CIVIL <br />DEFENSE WARNING SIREN SYSTEM FOR CITY OF PARIS <br />NOTICE: This specification has in part been written around siren system <br />equipment manufactured by A.C.A. (Alerting Communicators of America), Mequon, <br />Wisconsin; equipment which has been determined by the City of Paris to meet <br />its requirement for the use intended. However, there is no intention to <br />disqualify any manufacturer whose equipment and services can meet the intent <br />of these specifications without being in compliance with minor details. The <br />City's intent is to purchase a new warning siren system which is durable, <br />reliable, effective, and economical in terms of initial, operating and <br />maintenance costs. <br />i <br />General: The specifications listed below are minimum requirements and are <br />intended to govern the size and type of equipment, its location, and method <br />of operation. Variations fram these specifications may be acceptable provided <br />such differences are noted on the bid form and are deemed to be advantageous <br />to the City of Paris. The bidder's proposed schedule for completion of the <br />installation and satisfactory demonstration of the system shall be a factor <br />considered in selecting the successful bidder. <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />I. SIREN AND SIREN STARTER MOTOR <br />A. 125db to 135db at 100 feet. <br />✓ B. 480 volts, 3 phase, 250 amp starting, 64 amp running. <br />,/C. Shall be capable of producing an Alert double tone sustained <br />signal for 3-5 minutes and an Attack double tone undulating up <br />and down tone scale signal for 3-5 minutes. <br />.S' If the siren is a rotating type, the sound shall be beamed by a <br />horn with a configuration and intensity. 7he horn assembly shall <br />be capable of 360 degree rotation. <br />E. Minimum 70db level coverage of sound on the enclosed map coverage <br />area. <br />
